Today FRC Action, the legislative lobbying arm of Family Research Council, announced that former Miss California Carrie Prejean will appear at FRC Action's fourth annual Values Voter Summit. Ms. Prejean gained national prominence when she defended traditional one-man, one-woman marriage at the Miss USA Pageant. Ms. Prejean will speak about her experiences over the last year as she has become a role model and spokeswoman in defense of marriage.
Ms. Prejean's confirmation adds to the impressive line-up of conservative "who's who". She will join a growing program of speakers that includes: Governors Rick Perry and Tim Pawlenty, former Governors Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Reps. John Boehner (R-Ohio), Eric Cantor (R-Va.), Mike Pence (R-Ind.), Chris Smith (R-N.J.), Tom Price (R-Ga.), and Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), Bill O'Reilly, Bill Bennett, actor Stephen Baldwin, best-selling author Joel Rosenberg, Phyllis Schlafly, Ken Blackwell, Star Parker, Lila Rose, and many more.
FRC Action's Values Voter Summit is cosponsored by the American Family Association, Focus on the Family Action, American Values, Family Research Council, and The Heritage Foundation. The Summit will be held September 18-20 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. An exhibit hall, book signings, New Media Row sponsored by the National Organization for Marriage, and much more will be packed into this three-day conference. On Saturday evening, Phyllis Schlafly will be honored at a gala dinner and receive the third annual James C. Dobson Vision and Leadership Award.
